BioI began this forum as a place to give free rein to my pessimistic streak. The main theme was, "World not to end tomorrow, because that would be too quick and easy," and the headline was, "World to end slowly and with great agony. Humans to be hardest hit."
It's still a place for me to do that, but as I look back it's been a bit more than that, too (what little there is of it), so the "vision statement" is hereby broadened to include, well, whatever.
